I know there haven't been many updates recently, but the team was hard at work manufacturing the prototypes and the testing apparatuses. I say was because covid has stopped everything. A few weeks ago I was hoping to be able to share with you the exciting news and footage of our first ever test run of the stationary spike, but around 24 hours before the scheduled test the school was shut down because of Corona virus. Since then all work has been put on pause as we figure out what in the world we can and can't do. As of today, the project is beginning to find its feet again, but the end result is much different and much less in scope than was planned originally. Expect an entire webpage dedicated to this whole debacle in the next few weeks, but for now know that no more manufacturing or tests are planned for the foreseeable future, and even the non-physical stuff will be truncated due to loss of access to various programs. More info is coming later.

So with the beginning of the new term, we have entered phase 2 of the project. For Aerospike, you can look forward to demo videos, actual production of the static spike, testing of the static spike, and more. Already we have the first 3 demo videos of the Schlieren photo system prototype up on our new YouTube channel, linked at the bottom of each page, and we have finished determining the geometry of the spike and cowling, with 3D modeling ongoing. We are also beginning to do CFD and FEA on the vacuum chamber and the spike-cowling package using Star CCM, Solidworks, and Creo Parametric. For Owlsat, we will be making a shake table, an off-gassing tester, and manufacturing of a 1U module for the cubesat. We also hope to have 2 prototypes of the PCB done. All of this and more by the end of the term! Look forward to much more coming soon!

Well I tinkered a bit more and the members feature seems to now be working. Email me if anything is wrong and I will try to fix it. Can't fix everything, like the automatically generated messages always showing with a white background and a very thin, sometimes transparent font, but I will try my best!
Now anyone who may be looking at the site can talk to us directly! Now, how to get my teammates to make a profile...
